At yum, our team of teachers is as diverse as the practice of yoga itself. Each one brings a unique perspective to the mat, ensuring that no matter your background or experience, there’s a place for you here. They share a deep love for yoga, a passion for teaching, and a commitment to creating an embracing and non-judgmental space for everyone.

Diversity at Its Core

The teachers of yum’s YTT each brings something special to the table. They are in many ways different – but what truly binds them together is their shared passion for yoga and their dedication to creating an ambitious training, guiding students on their yogic path, eventually supporting the yoga community by bringing fundamentally skilled and competent new yogis into it. Together, they show an unwavering commitment to their craft and their students. For them, teaching yoga is more than just a job; it’s a lifestyle. They’re all about doing their best in everything they do, on and off the mat, and their wealth of knowledge comes from years of hard work and refining their skills.

Their unique backgrounds – from Greece, Nepal, Italy, and Denmark – bring diverse perspectives, personalities and teaching styles, ensuring that everyone can find a teacher who resonates with them. And this diversity isn’t just celebrated – it’s embraced.

At yum, we believe that yoga isn’t a one-size-fits-all practice. It’s about discovering your own path on the mat and embracing your unique journey, whether you’re drawn to yoga for mindfulness, healing, growth or simply to enjoy the experience. No matter where you come from or where you’re going, we meet you where you are, with open hearts and a shared love for the practice.

Kostis – The Greek Master of Precision & Presence

Kostis is the Lead Trainer on yum’s YTT. He doesn’t just teach yoga – he lives it. With his background in nursing and his passion for Vinyasa, he brings a blend of discipline and humor to every class. Kostis ensures you understand the how and why behind each asana, guiding you toward correct alignment with precision and dedication. His mantra: “Keep peace in your mind, strength in your body, and love in your heart” is the foundation of his teachings. He creates a space where you can dive deep into your own practice.

Kostis’ main goal is to ensure you leave the YTT  with a solid foundation and a well-earned certificate. He believes it’s essential that practitioners truly engage in the process, putting in the necessary work to grow. In his classes, you’ll find a space to explore your practice deeply, no matter your starting point, helping you evolve into a more mindful, strong, and balanced version of yourself.

Marianne – The Anatomical Genius Who Unites Science and Mentoring

By day, Marianne is a Ph.D. Medical Doctor, and by night (or whenever she’s teaching), she’s sharing her extensive knowledge of anatomy and physiology with her yoga students. With her background in medical science and psychology, she seamlessly connects body mechanics with the spiritual dimensions of yoga. Her classes emphasize playful movement, dynamic flows, and practical tips for incorporating yoga into everyday life.

Marianne’s exceptional communication skills make complex anatomical concepts accessible, ensuring that students feel supported and understood. She embodies a strong authority in her field while maintaining a down-to-earth approach, creating a warm and nurturing environment where everyone can feel safe to explore. Ultimately, Marianne reminds us that yoga goes beyond physical postures; it’s about understanding the body’s inner workings and deepening our connection to ourselves.

Through her unique blend of scientific knowledge and heartfelt teaching, Marianne guides her students to become confident, well-rounded yoga teachers, ready to share the transformative power of yoga with others.

Agni – The Wise Yogi Who Embodies Compassion & Authenticity

Straight from Nepal, Agni brings the wisdom and heart of traditional yoga into the teacher training program. With deep roots in yoga’s ancient teachings, he focuses on authenticity, mindfulness, and connection in every class. Agni’s fluid teaching style encourages spontaneity and exploration, allowing you to move seamlessly between poses and ideas. He challenges the need for control, inviting you to delve into your inner world while fully embracing the present moment.

Agni speaks from the heart, creating a nurturing environment where things don’t have to fit into boxes to make sense – there’s space for him, and there’s space for you. His compassionate approach guides you to let go of external judgments and cultivate inner peace. The meeting of cultures enriches his teachings, reminding us that yoga is as much about the why as it is about the what.

Whether you’re a seasoned yogi or just starting out, Agni’s warm presence will inspire you to discover your full potential as a teacher, helping you grow with grace and humility throughout the training journey.

Max – The Playful Italian Who Brings Movement to Life

Max is the joyful, playful energy that we all need in our lives. With his vibrant Italian spirit and a deep love for yoga, he has a natural talent for helping students tackle challenging postures with a sense of lightness and fun. Whether he’s gently adjusting your form or sharing life lessons between flows, Max fosters a relaxed and open atmosphere for learning.

His general classes combine movement, safety, and curiosity, and in the YTT program, he introduces additional tools to help you master cueing and adjusting students. He encourages you to explore your limits while keeping a playful mindset. Max reminds us that yoga is a practice, not a competition, and that the real joy comes from exploring it together.

So, What Does That Mean for You?

When you join our Teacher Training, you’re not just signing up to learn asanas – you’re stepping into a community that values diversity, inclusivity, and growth. You’ll experience yoga through different lenses, bringing together science and soul, tradition and modernity, discipline and play. The goal?
