About you
You are an experienced yoga teacher with a YTT certification (minimum 150H) and a passion for all-things-yoga. You are curious and proactive, and you also see yourself as a student of yoga, always trying to broaden and grow your practice, perspective and approach to sharing the love of yoga.
You love the feeling of community and thrive in the teacher-student dynamic. You make your students feel welcome, heard and seen in your classes, making the shala a safe space for yogis to flourish into their practice. You greet every student coming into your class with a smile on your face, you take pride in providing a personalised experience in your yoga classes and you are not afraid to walk around the room offering hands-on help with alignment.
Yum needs you if you’re the kind of teacher who is passionate about the world of yoga, while also being open to other points of view. We take everything with a smile, a little blink in the eye, to achieve a balance in striving to live our lives with respect to the planet, animals, other people and our own minds and bodies, without falling into the extreme. If you see yoga as a way to have fun with others and yourself, while also finding a grounding base for your everyday life, you are the kind of teacher we’re looking for.
At yum, the café guests and yogis should feel that it’s a place to re-energise. We want people, staff, yogis and café guests to feel welcome and part of the yum-family. A fun, friendly, honest and cheeky family. We need you if this is the vibe you thrive in!
We want you to:
? Be enthusiastic about sharing the benefits of yoga through fresh and fun yoga sequences;
? Be a yoga expert – our yogis look up and trust our teacher base with their practice;
? Take initiative, be observant and help us to continue making yum the sunniest yoga studio in Copenhagen;
? Be responsible and always show up on time and with a can-do attitude, and take pride in being so;
? Always leave the shala clean and tidy, maybe giving a little bit of extra care to the plants in the studio;
? Be a team player, because team work makes the dream work;
The position includes the following:
??♀️ Planning, preparing and executing yoga sequences, depending on the class type;
??♀️ Teaching classes according to the schedule;
??♀️ Learning and teaching yum’s set yoga se(a)quence;
??♀️ Recording students’ attendance in our booking system;

??♀️ Opening/closing the studio depending on the time of your class;
??♀️ Becoming a yum ambassador and being able to help our members with basic queries (e.g., familiarising yourself with our studio ethos and membership structure)
We are offering:
?? The chance to set goals and reach them and room to grow your yoga practice;
?? Lots of local yogis who are excited to meet you;
?? The chance to help live a yummy lifestyle;
?? A workplace by the water with awesome colleagues;
?? A free yoga membership and a teacher discount at the café
Feel like applying?
We’re always open to meeting interesting yogis, and if the schedule allows, we might have room for you to start! However, as we only have one yoga room and a limited schedule, permanent classes rarely free up.
Right now, we’re specifically looking for a strong, experienced teacher to lead our Advanced Fire class on Tuesday evenings, with the option to add one or two additional new classes to the schedule.
This class is for experienced yogis who are up for a challenge, and we’re looking for a teacher who loves turning up the heat and teaching strong, dynamic, and physically demanding practices. You should feel confident guiding students through challenging sequences, including inversions such as headstands and handstands, while holding a safe, motivating, and inspiring space.
The class draws inspiration from vinyasa, hatha, ashtanga, and jivamukti yoga, and we’re looking for someone who can truly light up the room and help students connect to their inner fire.
If you’re curious to know whether the timing is right and feel you match the above, please send your CV along with a few sentences about why you’d love to join us and why you’d be a great addition to the team.
Email our Yoga Manager, Elinor, at yoga@yum.dk.
We’re looking forward to hearing from you.
